What is SHARS? 

School Health and Related Services is a federal fee-for-service reimbursement program whereby school districts can receive federal $$ for certain services offered through their Special Education department. Those services are listed below:

  • Nursing Services
  • Psychological Assessment
  • Psychological Treatment
  • Counseling services
  • Personal Care Services – in the classroom and on the bus

  • Provide FREE Custom Billing Software for Clinical Session Notes/Service Logs
  • Electronic billing of all Medicaid claims to TMHP (Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership)
  • Accurate and Timely Processing
  • Reconciliation of weekly R&S reports
  • Appeal of Denied or Underpaid Claims
  • Assistance with all RMTS requirements
  • Assistance with Annual SHARS Cost Report, onsite or phone consultation
  • Assistance with Self Monitoring for Medicaid Compliance (forms available)
  • Liaison with state and federal agencies governing SHARS program and navigate changes as they occur​
